Bomber Jackets

2

Firstly, I would like to clear one little thing up… The title of my blog – Bombers & Blondes - is not a dedication to crazy blonde biatches throwing explosives around!!!  I am actually referring to a particular love affair that a certain blonde has with bomber jackets – me!

I had toyed with the idea of starting a blog for years. Shyness and fear of putting my opinions out there for the entire world to judge and scrutinize previously prevented me from finding the courage to take the leap!! But here I am now leaping away!!

I’m exceptionally lucky because I have the opportunity to practice my much-loved hobby every day and call it my career. I’m currently the Personal Stylist in Topshop on Stephens Green in Dublin. I get to style and dress different clients and customers 5 days a week, which is amazingly fulfilling. Being surrounded by lovely workmates, beautiful and affordable clothes, meeting charming people every day and helping them in their quest to wardrobe perfection has only deepened my love and knowledge for Fashion and Style.

You will probably notice that  a substantial amount of pieces that I feature in my blog will be from Topshop. This is because I spend almost 40 hours a week in the store and am naturally inspired by the amazing collections around me!! Not to mention that I have usually run out of dough by the time I manage to venture past Topshop on pay weekend!!

Oh dear I’m starting to run off point, sorry back to the bomber!! Often people associate bomber jackets with retro vibes or mod dressing. However, the Bomber Jackets that I’m all about are the luxurious kind, premium in their quality fabric and print but not necessarily in their price! They have the potential to transform an otherwise simple outfit into an effortless standout look.

My obsession for bomber Jackets has grown out of control in the last 3 years and I have become something of a collector. The bomber jacket is the perfect statement piece for anyone no matter how simple or classical their style.

Worn on a night out with a bodycon dress, chunky boots and statement neckpiece you will look super-hot and cool.

Try it with ripped skinnies, a basic V neck and a pointy toe shoes for a Miranda Kerr inspired look.

Go a little dressier like the Marks and Spencer’s stork print bomber I’m wearing above. I spotted this one featured in an editorial of last month’s Elle magazine. I teamed it up with a premium topshop satin skirt and a pair of sandal boots to edge it up a little. It is a definite must-have and Bombers & Blondes favorite wardrobe essential.

My favorite bomber jacket in my wardrobe has to be my Topshop Boutique Burgundy bomber with the metallic print stitched on the sleeves. I picked it up online in the Christmas 2012 sale and I’m alwaysshowered with inquires and compliments when I wear it.

The pictures I have used in this post are the fruits of another very fun DIY editorial on Sandymount beach with my iPhone, an old mannequin and basically every bomber jacket I posses. We got some very questionable stares from passer-bys embarking on their mid day strolls hehe! So a big shout out and thank you to my very patient lovely, sister and expert iPhone Photographer Sarah for her help.

Oh and I promise there is a shop-able, high-street, post coming very soon with images and links of  “The Best of The Bombers”  for you to lust over.

Till next time,
