Splish Splash in Plastic Fantastic!

I don’t know about ye guys but I’m seriously excited for the festival season to get kicking! Never in one summer has there been such an array of talent and great gigs on tap for us in Dublin. Between Kings of Leon, Artic Monkeys, Arcade Fire and The National to name just a fraction of my favourites we really are spoilt for choice. One thing’s for sure, we’re going to need some serious outfit inspo! But with our unreliable climate we are also going to need some whopper rainwear!!

The good news is that keeping dry has never looked so cool! This season’s Rainforest/Paddington bear look is all about Plastic and Vinyl! Ditch your parka and take a note of Burberry’s SS14 catwalk look below. Keep the rest of your look minimal to avoid looking like a 5 year old and you’ll be laughing.

Commit to plastic and puddles!

I’m loving this really cute floral option from Topshop. It’s a little more subtle in its plastic-ness so it could be a nice one to try to ease yourself into the look.

However my favourite piece is most definitely the beauty below from Topshop (again!). With this bad boy on hand you don’t need to let the rain prevent the world from seeing your perfectly chosen festival outfit – it’s completely see-through!!!

I decided to pair it with some sporty separates and mixed in contrasting textures. My sweatshirt is from Zara and the shorts and boots are both Topshop.

My lovely roomie Sarah and I had great fun by the River Dodder in Milltown this morning creating our own little makeshift editorial for this post. With nothing but an iPhone on hand you can imagine what a professional excursion it turned out to be but hopefully you’ll catch the idea all the same.
