S/S 2015 -Suede

Suede will be the very first of my Spring Summer 2015 trend breakdown posts.

I know Spring Summer dressing may seem like a lifetime away with this cold dull January that’s almost at a close. However in terms of the fashion world Spring/Summer 2015 collections have launched months ago throughout the various fashion weeks and it wont be long till our beloved high street stores follow their lead and start stocking the new seasonal trends.

With Irelands unpredictable short summers I feel its super important to be wise when choosing pieces to invest in and to update your look. I have had so much fun devouring trend breakdowns in Vogue and Elle over the past few weeks and have finally decided what I am going to zone in on trend wise for the upcoming season. The first of which is the ‘coloured suede’ trend seen in collections such as Burberry and Chloe.

A suede jacket in a pastel or chalky shade is the perfect style nod to the new season that you can wear right now and incorporate into your winter looks and continue to wear right through the summer. For me it’s all about transitional pieces you can mix with your staple pieces to achieve a polished up to date outfit. Pair yours with polo necks and skinnys for the chilly months and then once the summer hits it will look amazing with flirty dresses at festivals or denim shorts and basic tshirts for day to day wear. This in my mind is an absolute must have.

 I actually picked up a super vibrant one this time last year in &Other Stories in London which will tie me over for the moment. I wore mine tonight meeting my lovely Dad (who was up from Cork for the evening) and sister for a catch up dinner in The Residence  Club. I went all black with a Topshop polo jersey top, black ankle grazer Jamie jeans and some pointy toe boots to keep the outfit minimal.
